  • We use our TrailMax pack saddle tree as the starting point when building our World renowned Decker pack saddles. From there, we add hand-picked, top quality harness leather and the best quality hardware available. Our attention to detail during saddle construction is obvious.
  • What sets this pack saddle apart from all others is our TrailMax half-breed cover. A double layer of extremely durable Textilene mesh surrounds one inch of Duratex™ synthetic padding, making this one of the most lightweight and breathable Decker pack saddles on the market. The half breed edges are bound and reinforced with almost indestructible 4-way nylon webbing.

    No horse packing or mule packing equipment list is complete without a well made pair of panniers. We offer panniers and pack horse saddles in several styles and a variety of materials. Our vinyl lined canvas Oversized Horse Panniers are great for bulky items, duffel loads or a cooler. When horse packing, equipment and gear such as our Ralide-West Hard Panniers , are very convenient for packing food, kitchen equipment, etc. Our Pack Saddle Panniers and our Canvas and Leather Panniers provide packers with a soft pannier that can also accommodate the PolyPac Inserts for structure and protection. They also offer packers a more traditional look for their horse packing equipment.

    Top packs are a wonderful addition to your horse packing equipment. They provide you with additional space for packing lightweight bulky items such as clothes, sleeping bags, such as our canvas Cowboy Bedroll and roll-up camp furniture. Additionally, most packers will cover their loads for protection against adverse weather using our Manty Tarps . Our Packers Rain Cover is durable vinyl coated and designed with ties for secure attachment to your panniers. For a more traditional look, many packers will use manties as a raincover.

    Your mule packing and Horse Packing Equipment should include items to care for and control your stock in camp. We have a variety of feedbags available to help you safely feed grain or hay cubes to your stock in camp. We also have several styles of hobbles, highline and picket kits and portable electric corrals so you can keep your stock safely contained in the backcountry. Additionally, you may wish to consider a Mule Halter or a Packer's Halter for your pack stock. These halters offers lead rope attachment rings for "side pull", "center pull", or "no pull", allowing you to regulate cinching and tightening on the noseband.

    Lastly, don’t forget a packer’s scale, Decker hooks, lash cinch, ropes or any other of the smaller, but equally vital, pieces of horse packing equipment.
